Deku Variants in MHUR: Identify OFA Rapid and Rising Kits

Tell base Izuku Midoriya, original Rapid OFA Deku and Technical Rising apart before using a MHUR skill guide, combo video or Roll banner.

FAQ

Are Izuku Midoriya and Izuku Midoriya (OFA) interchangeable?
No. The roster and community database treat them as separate character entries. Check the full character name as well as the equipped Battle Style.
Does Rising in an old combo guide mean Technical Rising Deku?
Not necessarily. The word can describe a rising movement or attack. Confirm the role and skill names; an older Rapid OFA guide is not evidence for the Season 19 Technical kit.
Can a costume tell me which Deku kit is equipped?
A costume alone is an unreliable identifier. Read the character entry, Battle Style and role on the selection screen, then compare the alpha, beta and gamma names.

Identify the kit before copying the guide

The reliable identifier is the full character name plus the equipped Battle Style and role. Deku is a nickname used across guides, videos and discussions, so it can hide an important difference. A costume, thumbnail or title saying “OFA” is not enough.

This page is a focused distinction between the entries you are likely to encounter while researching Rising. It is not a complete catalogue of every Izuku Battle Style.

An original variant checklist diagram asks the reader to verify character entry, Battle Style and role before following a Deku guide.

Base Izuku, OFA Rapid and OFA Rising

Entry to check What distinguishes it What to do next
Izuku Midoriya The base Izuku character entry; do not assume it has OFA’s skills Read the actual equipped style and skill screen
Izuku Midoriya (OFA), original kit Rapid role; the community database lists 250 HP Use a guide explicitly covering the original Rapid OFA kit
Izuku Midoriya (OFA), Rising Technical role; the community database lists 300 HP Use the Rising skill guide

The UltraRumble roster and OFA character entry provide the database distinction. HP is a supporting clue, not a substitute for reading the selected style: later balance updates can change a number.

Match names to mechanics

The Technical Rising kit has Blackchain / Blackchain + Gearshift on alpha, Faux 100% Manchester Smash on beta and One For All Smash: Rising on gamma. If the guide you are reading describes a different alpha, beta or gamma, stop and identify which kit it actually covers.

One particularly easy mistake is using the older OFA combo guide as a Rising guide. Its discussion of rising movement does not turn it into evidence for the new Technical style. Read it for the kit it covers, then use a separate Rising practice plan to test the new mechanics.

An original kit overview diagram separates alpha anchor movement, beta rush commitment and gamma uppercut pressure for the Technical Rising style.

Check a video in three steps

  1. Read the publication context. A video from before the new style’s October 14 release may discuss previews or an older kit. Its title alone cannot resolve that.
  2. Compare the visible skill behavior. Terrain anchors and the Manchester Smash preparation are more useful clues than the costume color.
  3. Look for the role or selection screen. If a creator does not identify the kit, use the video as an illustration rather than as a loadout instruction.

The official Season 19 Rising trailer is embedded in the Rising overview. It identifies the intended Battle Style; it still does not establish a tested true combo.

Check a Roll before spending tickets

A character, Battle Style and costume are different rewards. Read the current banner’s featured items and full drop list, then match the exact reward name to the kit you want. Do not assume that a banner showing Deku artwork unlocks Technical Rising.

An original unlock route diagram places exact reward identification before checking a Roll pool, rates and exchange terms.

The unlock checklist covers the current-pool checks and the Season 18 boundary on the anniversary selection events. If you are still learning the game, the beginner guide explains the match basics before you choose a specialized kit.

Reviewed October 14, 2026. Always give the current in-game selection screen priority when a guide and the equipped kit disagree.
